For anyone concerned about the demise of print books — those wonderfully weighty, tactile objects with aroma and essense of imagination — this was the news from one of my publishers, Second Story Press:

“At Digital Book World…in New York City, some interesting data arose showing that for a second consecutive six-month period, children are increasintly leaving their readers/tablets for print books.  No one is saying that digital books for kids are going away, but also no one is predicting the disappearance of print any time soon.”

For those of us who write for children, and for those of us whose childhood’s were imprinted by stories we literally clutched to our hearts, this is great news.
